Nikon Z 35mm f1.4 or the 35mm f1.8

I'm looking for a new 35mm prime and can't decide between these two lenses. I had the Nikon Z 35mm f1.8 a while back and sold it because I liked my 40mm f2 more for traveling and the focal lengths were very close. I'm shooting more indoor events lately and want something sharper and faster. I probably shouldn't have sold the 1.8. Anyway, I just noticed this new 35mm f1.4 on B&H. It looked like Nikon was going with 1.2 lenses with the 50 and 85, so it's strange to me they came out with this 1.4. Not very expensive though so I might sell the 40mm f2. Anyone have experience with this lens? Or would it be better to go back to the 1.8 since it has the "S" designation?

I have the 40mm f2 and the 28mm f2.8. I also have S lenses. The non-S Nikon lenses have more character. Not much, but more. I love the way the 40mm f2 renders. I'd save some money and go with the 35mm f1.4. Might not have the build quality of the 1.8 but it's faster and likely not as clinical.
