Zeiss Colors

What is it about Zeiss glass that renders such beautiful colors compared to Nikon glass? Every time I use my Zeiss lenses there is little to no editing needed in post. On the other hand, portraits produced with nearly every Nikon lens I have all have this green hue that I need to fix in Lightroom.
