I'm curious about how this lens renders and if it's usable wide open.

I had this lens for a while. I wouldn't call it very usable wide open, unless you're going for a very dreamy look. Mine was in a Leica M-mount adapted to Nikon Z.

It's ok for video. Sort of matches the look of Stanley Kubrick movies if that's what you're going for.
