Fujifilm GFX 50s

Post: # 42Post Ken »

I've recently acquired a GFX 50s and am contemplating using it for portraiture work to replace my Nikon Z6. I'm available to answer questions about the 50s. It definitely slows down my workflow, and I wouldn't use it for anything but portraits and landscapes. It's slow at 3fps and the contrast autofocus can be hit-or-miss. The images are what really matters, and they're outstanding!

Update: Since buying the 50s I ended up selling it and buying the GFX 100s in order to get IBIS. Then I sold the 100s and bought the GFX 100 ii. Finally ended up returning the 100ii because I couldn't justify the cost for this hobby. I did however learn a few things along the way. Most importantly was the law of diminishing returns. When I originally sold the 100s it was because the 100s ii had just been released. I would have been perfectly fine with the original 100s, the second version has only minor improvements. Now I have no GFX, finally settling on the Nikon Z8.

This was Fuji's first attempt at a medium format camera. They've come a long way since coming out with the 50s. I find the 50s very slow to use at 3fps and moderate viewfinder blackout.
