Nikon Z 24-70mm f4 vs Nikon Z 24-70mm f2.8

How much better is the image quality from the Nikon Z 24-70mm f2.8 if you don't really need f2.8? I want to upgrade from my kit lens but the 24-70mm f4 is still an s-line lens and has been great. Will I see a major improvement in quality with the 2.8 lens?
