400mm f2.8 lens hood
Are there any options for hoods for the Nikon 400mm f2.8 VR besides the original two-piece HK-33-1 & HK-33-2? Do I really need the second hood? I see one on Ebay for almost $400. Not trying to spend that kind of money on a hood.

Vintage lenses that cover GFX medium format sensor
As both a Nikon and GFX shooter, I've found a few lenses in my collection that fully cover the GFX sensor. My favorite is probably the Nikkor 58mm f1.2. There is barely any noticeable vignette, and 1.2 on the GFX simply obliterates backgrounds. I also shoot many CONTAX Zeiss lenses and have found th...

Re: GFX 100s vs. 100s II
Doesn't seem like enough of a reason to upgrade unless you don't already have the 100s. Then the 100s II may be worth the additional costs, although difficult to find used. Personally, I'll be moving from the 100s to a used 100 ii. That's a more noticeable jump in features and performance.

Re: Nikon Z 50mm f1.2
Update: I ended up selling the Nikon Z 50mm f1.2, and have been shooting with the old Noct 58mm f1.2. I wouldn't recommend this option for most, especially if you need autofocus, but I love the smaller size and having a lens that will grow in value over time.

Re: Swarovski Vs. Vortex Razor
Vortex offers great value for the price. Even the entry level Vortex models are great. I've got a pair of 15x56, and while there's definitely some chromatic aberration, it doesn't make sense for me to pay over 2k more to get rid of it.

Re: Nikon 58mm f1.2 Noct
Thanks for the info. Looks straightforward enough. I still can't muster the courage to open it up. I might try the naptha trick. The focus barely sticks, just being hyper critical.

Too much glass in modern cameras lenses.

Laowa 90mm f2.8 macro
This lens is as sharp as any lens I've ever tested. It's up there with Zeiss Otus for sharpness. Hard to believe you can get glass like this for around $500. My only complaint would be the crappy hood it comes with.

Re: Chinese Lenses for Nikon Z
I've been using the Laowa 90mm f2.8 macro for a few months and am very impressed. Not only does it give 2:1 macro capability, but it's also a great lens for portraits.
