Base for tripod

My 8x10 Stenopeika arrived. The tripod I'm using seems a bit unstable. The Stenopeika has one screw mount at the base. It seems to me that it should have more. I have an Arca-Swiss style plate but with only one screw it's not locked in place very well and tends to swing. I was thinking of drilling a...

Wizner Expedition Field Camera

I recently purchases a Wisner Expedition Field Camera. This camera is very packable and made to very high standards. My only complaint is that it is complicated to obtain focus. Getting the front and rear standards to not exceed travel while trying to focus is difficult.

Nikon 58mm f1.2 Noct

I finally pulled the trigger and bought a vintage Noct from KEH. This lens is great for shooting wide open at f1.2. I've also had the Nikon Z 50mm f1.2, and while the images are sharper from the modern lens, this lens is much easier to carry around. I also recently purchased a Nikon Z8, and at 20 fr...

Fujifilm GFX 50s

I've recently acquired a GFX 50s and am contemplating using it for portraiture work to replace my Nikon Z6. I'm available to answer questions about the 50s. It definitely slows down my workflow, and I wouldn't use it for anything but portraits and landscapes. It's slow at 3fps and the contrast autof...

Re: Swarovski Vs. Vortex Razor

I've watched unboxing videos with a nice case. I'm guessing at some point they stopped shipping with the nice case and went with the bag. Here's a good review:
